Across a two day workshop series, join us for an uplifting, relaxing and inspiring experience where you will learn to bring a stunning hibiscus to life on toned paper using artist quality coloured pencils. This series is designed for absolute beginners through to more experienced artists who want to refine their techniques in a calm, supportive environment. A wonderful opportunity for all skill levels ( definitely beginner friendly ) to explore the beautiful effects and rich luminosity these beautiful velvety coloured pencils can create.

Your Experience
Across two days ( four hour sessions each with a break) , you will be guided step by step through
• Observing and sketching natural forms with confidence
• Building soft, luminous layers of colour
• Creating depth, shadows and highlights on toned paper
• Blending, burnishing and refining details
• Bringing your botanical artwork to life with clarity and ease
The atmosphere is warm, encouraging and spacious. Joanne offers relaxed guidance for those new to coloured pencil techniques and deeper insight for those wanting to explore their artistic style. Every participant receives personalised support, so you can work at a pace that feels right for you.
The Venue surrounded by Nature
We will be creating inside Cominos House, a beautiful heritage Queenslander filled with natural light. Surrounded by tropical gardens, leafy greenery and soft birdsong, it offers the perfect setting to slow down, unwind and immerse yourself in a creative escape beside the Cairns Botanic Gardens.
